Electrodiagnosis & Musculoskeletal Associates of Puget Sound, P.S., formerly Electrodiagnosis & Rehabilitation Associates of Tacoma, P.S., has been serving the Puget Sound Region for over 35 years, and incorporated in 1981.  We have 8 offices conveniently located. Three in South King County – Covington and Federal Way, and five throughout Pierce County – Gig Harbor, Lakewood, Puyallup and Tacoma, WA, where our main office is located.

While most physicians are double or triple Board Certified, all 6 physicians are Board Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR), and active participants within the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R).

We are recognized as both Regional and National Experts in Electrodiagnostic (EDX) Medicine – Electromyography (EMG)/Nerve Conduction Study (NCS) or Nerve Conduction Velocity (NCV), often abbreviated EMG/NCS.  We are but one of a few Electrodiagnostic Laboratories in Washington State regularly performing Somatosensory Evoked Potential study (SSEP or SEP) and Dermatomal Somatosensory Evoked Potential (DSEP).  5 of our physicians are Board Certified by the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM), and are active participants within the American Association of Electrodiagnostic and Neuromuscular Medicine (AANEM)One of our Senior Physicians, has been a Board Examiner for 28+ years consecutively!

In September, 2011, Electrodiagnosis & Musculoskeletal Associates of Puget Sound, P.S., was recognized by AANEM as the First Multi-Physician Electrodiagnostic Laboratory in Washington State Awarded the Prestigious Distinction of Full Accreditation with Exemplary Status, one of less than 20 laboratories so Accredited Nationwide.  Some of our members have published and contributed to advancements in this specialty field to include unique expertise relative to Electrodiagnosis of the Ankle and Foot including such problems as: Anterior and Posterior Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome, Medial and/or Lateral Plantar Neuropathy, “Baxter’s” Neuropathy among several other variants of distal peripheral entrapment neuropathy, which sometimes is difficult to differentiate from distal peripheral neuropathy (“sick” or diseased nerves).

We provide Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) services for problems ranging from but not limited to the following conditions: 

Brain, spine and musculoskeletal problems and associated pain for diagnosis and treatment ranging from – Sprains/Strains, “Overuse Syndrome”/Cumulative Trauma Disorders, Myofascial Pain Syndrome and Fibromyalgia, as well as non-operative Disc Injuries and consequences of Degenerative Disc and Spinal Stenosis associated with Cervical, Thoracic and/or Lumbar Radiculopathy.
